Dice-K was a big pitching acquisition by the Red Sox several years ago (not sure of the year but it could have been 2006) and he was a big part of the reason they won the World Series in 2007. He was a solid pitcher in Japan before he came to the USA and had some great years with the Red Sox but IIRC, he has had a few years of injury lately and I think that's how the Mets ended up with him.

Girardi would be a perfect change but doubt the Yankees are dumb enough to let him go. Also, I don't know of anyone in Yankee management who would have the courage to sit down next to Girardi and tell him he was fired. Joe's a tough guy.

Latos at 84 pitches. Full count to Duda. Long foul on pitch 85.

    Strike out swinging. One down.

Latos pitching well so far. Looks very healthy today. Two outs, Mike Baxter up.

Mat Latos has done his job.

It's time for the offense to do thiers.

    Get Latos some runs!
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Seems like he gets very little run support.

All Reds pitchers suffer from the same ailment.

Choo breaks bat and flies out. Reds could use a home run.
