The run was scored on a HBP, a bunt, an absolutely miserable passed ball by Mesoraco, and then a soft ground ball to first with Votto playing way too far in.

Latos looked as good as you would expect a top pitcher to look against a lineup containing one major league hitter.

On the other hand, the Reds...

Not what I heard. Sources tell me that Hernandez was playing Strat-O-Matic, Darling was surfing porn sites on the internet, and Cohen was looking for good brisket in the Nati.

New Yorkers are good at multi-tasking. I always figured Keith for an APBA man.

They should play it in Fairbanks. Big travel for both teams.

After a Darnell McDonald homerun the Cubs are now up 4-1 on Pittsburgh.

This might not be a waste of a day afterall.

    APBA? He's Keith Hernandez!

Didn't get to see the game, but it sounds like the same schizo offense we've seen all year.

Okay, read a couple hundred of the posts (1) and have to add one more here with thanks to those I've cited:

Me too! But, but, but, I just saw these guys put up 11 runs on Sunday! I was maybe 30 feet from Frazier at 3B. I'm near certain it was the same guys. So, what...how...never mind.

Yup again. Didn't realize how much before I read the bundle 'o posts just now. Really bad Billy day added to what was obvious from the score. I was kind of hoping he'd get to 500 steals without being thrown out. [Yes, I am kidding].

Thanks, dsmith. And bummer to hear about Meso. He needs to really work on becoming a better defensive catcher. But I still like him in the lineup over Hanigan. Know some others don't agree, likely including Dusty when it comes to the playin.

Was going to say this weekend's series should be interesting but actually it probably won't be. I'll watch the games. And, if they win 2 or 3, that'd be cool and put me into a less sour mood. But, it is all about Tuesday; probably back at PNC (maybe I should go since the last time I saw them there they cleaned the Bucs' clock....hmmm...thinking out loud....wasn't going to do a Cincinnati trip until and if they made the LCS...but that playin...hmmm....should I?...I could....)

Now that the Pirates have lost, today (in hindsight) was a meaningless game.

Still have to take two of three from the Pirates no matter what to get the home WC game.

Hope the Reds got it out of their system.

    Series winner hosts the playoff.

    Easiest scenario all season

Absolutely. Official scorers are ridiculously homerish. They serve no purpose.

I don't give a crap if we get swept this coming up series....as long as we win that one game series next week.

After we played last weekend and how we played in San Fran last year, I feel we would be more focused on the road, and the pressure on Pittsburgh. Just my take.

I worry more about the 1 game than I do series play.

They've been winning series' against good teams since the ASB.

Thought someone had posted here that the Bucs would have the tiebreaker if the two teams ended tied? if that's right (I haven't checked), we'd need to sweep the series to host. One game back of the Bucs now. We win 2 and they 1 this weekend, we'd have equivalent records.
