I'm not saying it should be easy to score runs against the Mets but it shouldn't be this hard. Thank goodness we will be facing a good team in the playoffs because they sure have trouble beating the bad ones.

According to Baseball Prospectus' Adjusted Standings, the Reds "should" be leading the NL in W-L record. Their Second Order and Third Order winning percentage are best in the league. Not the Division, the league.
After the season, it will be interesting to analyze why they have not achieved that.

If you're referring to the Adjusted Standings post, I think you are correct that those relief losses are a big part of it.
But there's other stuff too.
