Blacked out here in Baltimore thanks to the awful Fox Game of the Week dealie. Not enough cheering from the home crowd to get the win? I blame the fans totally.

Reds fans have lost four straight games while only scoring a total of six runs.
Reds fans simply are not getting it done. It appears that Reds fans are not clutch performers.

    Maybe for you younger guys.

I'm an over 40 out of towner with no swag. If I don't catch on with some independent team I'm going to have to figure out what I'm going to do in life after fandom.

I wonder if the starters might play some. Can they lose 4 straight and then play the Louisville team in front of 40,000?

It's "Fan Appreciation Day", "Team Photo Day", and "Family Day" so a few fans are going to be there for the promotions, so why not?

Strange given some stroke of nature had the game broadcast in DC.
O's playing well against Boston right now, btw. Not sure if you're also an O's fan?

Last weekend in Pittsburgh, they had Fan Appreciation Day and were announcing giveways of all kinds throughout the game (Sunday). One of the coolest ideas there, which I hadn't seen before elsewhere, were player jersey giveaways. So, at the end of inning X, they'd announce the winning seat number for a McCutcheon jersey, a Lambo jersey, etc.

Because the Reds won big, we stayed until well after the game ended. We watched as a line of fans, holding cards or sheets of paper, were led down the LF line toward the Bucs' dugout. When they got there, we saw the cards each had a player's name. And, then the players all came out, removed their jersey's, approached whichever fan was holding the card with the right name, and signed, chatted and handed them the jersey. I thought that was very cool and maybe representative of the bond that city has with the team despite the lost decadeS. Have the Reds ever done that at GABP? Has anyone seen this done before?

In the paper today it said that, when asked, several "prominent" Reds agreed with Ludwick's comments but never would have said it themselves, subscribing to the WWJD (J=Jeter) approach - don't make waves - of media and fan relations.

In general and relatively speaking, Cincy crowds are passive. Baseball and football. It's a place that does not unify well.

As I suspected...you can't tell 40,000 people on Fan Appreciation Day to watch Neftali Soto. Starters will play like half the game.
