Reds need to shake things up in the WC game.

Because right now it looks like they'll get blown out.

I think FCB is right. Hamilton needs to start.

For Ludwick or Choo, I'm not sure which.

Probably Choo. Of course, there is a 0.00000% chance of Baker actually starting him.

Phillips and Ludwick are horrible right now. The lineup needs to be:

    Choo
    B Hamilton
    Votto
    Phillips (out of necessity )
    Bruce
    Frazier
    Cozart
    Mesoraco

I like that lineup a lot. Won't happen of course (BHam, Mes). But I like it and wanted you to know.

Thanks, also another option could be:

    Choo
    Hamilton
    Votto
    Bruce
    Frazier
    Phillips
    Cozart
    Mesoraco

C'mon man. That's undoubtedly what some Bucs fans said last Sunday night after we blew them out 11-3; just before they went on to win 3 of their next 4 including tonight in our house.

I'd like Hamilton to start also. But, saying that Tuesday looks like they'll get blown out--with our pitching and what our bats can and have done--well, that's crazy talk. Maybe they'll lose. Maybe they'll win. Neither should surprise. The only thing we can be confident predicting? They'll play hard.

Yeah I mean, how on earth did they ever win 90 games with things as bad as they are? The sky is definitely going to fall for real this time.

Okay, but they haven't really been able to get hot all season. Who cares about 90 wins. That's great... but it wasn't enough. Wasn't the goal this year to win a playoff series?

What wasn't enough? They're in the playoffs and they start Tuesday.

Are you preemptively writing the season off as a failure based on not winning a playoff series before the playoffs begin?

It wasn't enough that they didn't win 90 games the way people wanted them too. More consistently with their offense. Or more hot streaks (which of course would mean more losing streaks). Or with more "fire" or with more throwing bases at umpires. Or something.

Indeed. And yet someone will inevitably show up to say we aren't allowing for "rational" discussion because they're allowed to be "critical."

You can go 1-0, 3-2, 4-3 and 4-3 and win the World Series. Never once having to get hot.

Why would you want to bench Choo? In his last ten games he's been on base 22 times, scored 9 runs and driven in 6 from the lead-off spot. What more do you want from the guy?

Bench Choo for a guy with a .300 OBP in the minor leagues.

I've hard some pretty horrible ideas, but this one is certainly near the top.

Now Ludiwck, that is a different case. He's adding nothing at the moment and doesn't look like he plans to. I'm all for replacing him and adding a different dimension.

Exactly. Choo has been one of the few strengths of a struggling offense lately. Ludwick has been Ludwick. Awesome move by Dusty to put him in the two spot. You can't make this stuff up.
