That is going to happen when 18 year olds and 22 year olds are available in the same draft classes. Right out of the gate, the older guys are almost always going to look good.

Pittsburgh pitching approach: throw ball in dirt, throw ball in dirt, throw ball in dirt...
Rounding third and heading for home...

And Wacha was a guy a lot of people were specifically hoping the Reds would get.

As for today, he's having a game reminiscent of Homer Bailey vs. Giants last season. Yet, as we all know, it won't matter if the team fails to give him some runs.

Have we mentioned that Wacha has a perfect game going? If not, everone should know that Wacha has a perfect game going.

Yes, a perfect game. Not a single person has reached base yet against Wacha. He's perfect through 5. No hits or anything.

Flurry of F bombs (for no apparent reason) between Balfour and Martinez and emptying of benches in A's-Tiger game.

Warnings to both benches. Balfour and Martinez resume jawing after the AB. Apparently they didn't get the warning.

Remember when DanO signed Grant Balfour, we rehabbed his arm in 2006, and Krivsky let him walk?

    Good times.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Kind of suprised Donnie Baseball is going to scratch Nolasco and pitch Kershaw on short rest vs the Braves tonight.

To be fair, it was another full season and two teams later before he got his game back in gear.

Now it's just a no-hitter for Wacha. No hits for Pitt through 6.

In some ways, Matheny may be a bit relieved if this no-hitter ends on an otherwise harmless single. He could be faced with tough decision if this kid still has the no-no.

While there's no such thing as a must-win game 4 for a team with a 2-1 lead, the Pirates must be dreading the notion of going back to St. Louis for the Wainwright-Burnett rematch.

Doesn't look good for them at the moment. Wacha is chewing them up.
