Someone has to tell John Farrell he's doing it wrong. You don't bring your closer in to pitch the 9th in a tie game on the road

Garcia has matched LA firing their Kershaw bullet a day early.

Yes, Freddy Garcia in a 2013 playoff elimination game vs Clayton Kershaw.

    Playoffs = Crapshoot

Not me, their history is basically a mirror of the Reds history, if they can win it all we'll be get one too someday

    Managers are just so stubborn.

Kimbrel may never have had a 6 out save.....but how can you go down and end your season with him waiting in the bullpen to see if he's needed.

You gotta get to game 5.

    See ya Braves.

I wanted the Cardinals and Dodgers because I didn't think St Louis could match the Pirate pitching. If things work out as I think they will, I'll be rooting for the AL. I hate the Bucs, Cards, and Braves. I have no love for LA, but even after their history with the a Reds, they are the lesser of many evils. When Ted a Turner said his only goal in life was to beat Cincinnati it sealed it for me. Die, Braves!

I don't like the way the Dodgers do business these days, but I consider them a much bigger threat than Atlanta (who even more than the Reds are the kings of close but no cigar) and look forward to them hopefully taking care of St. Louis/Pittsburgh.

Plus 'I Love L.A.' is an awesome song.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

And Randy Newman sings I love LA. Now as long as the Pirates Lise, we set up the perfect grudge match in the WS. I hate that, but no NL team I could root for was there.

    Fredi pulled a Dusty.

I don't even want to imagine my rage if Dusty had left Chapman in the bullpen in that situation and let Hoover give up a GW HR like that

So true. Many manager drive me crazy. It was the elimination game after all. There was no tomorrow. Inexperience is a brutal girl.

And Keith Olberman, regardless of what you think of his politics, is a jewel. Sports is his thing.

Carpenter has been almost as good as Kimbral this year. I have no problem with bringing him in for the 8th. No way to predict that Juan Uribe is going to beat you with a two run homer.

I still think you have to use your best guy for 2 innings there. If you win you don't play until Wednesday anyway and if you don't you go home. With days off the way the playoffs are anymore, there's no excuse for not utilizing your top guys if you get 6 from your starter. Kimbrel should have came in after Puig got on.

At least Kimbrel will be rested for spring training.
    numbersinthereds.blogspot.com I actually made a post on 7/4/14. I promise.
