I was there if so. Mark Lewis with the grand slam. Hideo Nomo got lit up. My son was a little kid (I think 7). He's 25 now.
I was there too. Hard to believe it has been 18 years now without a home playoff win

Dusty now 0-9 in elimination games... Can we still call that a small sample size?

Pirates deserved to play the Cards. We didn't. Not that deserves got anything to do with it.

Personally I'm rooting for Bane in St Louis in game one.

No more Reds baseball until ST. That is always depressing. Like the addict I am, I just wanted one more fix. Not to be. Cold turkey starts now.

I am part of that generation, but I will root against the Pirates at every turn. I hope that the Dodgers take the Cardinals in four and that the AL wins the WS.

I don't understand the Pirates hate. They're a good club. Play hard. Deserved to win. Screw STL.

I had this team pegged in May and they did nothing since to change what they are. Not at all surprised they ended the season tanking.

not an excuse, plenty of guys have signed for big money...he just seems like a wierd guy this whole season

Pirates and their fans are aware they just won the wild card play in game and not game 7 of the world series, right?

    Bummer, man.

No joy this year. Thought they had their mojo going a couple weeks back with the back-to-back StL and LA series. But then they took their foot off the gas pedal and never got it back again.

Depressing. I hate this moment. No more Cincinnati baseball this year. Ends too abruptly. I wasn't quite ready yet.

The Bucs have had the cards # this year, at lest this loss saves us from losing to St. Louis again

I don't hate them. Mad at them right now, but even that's really undeserved. They wanted it more and the Reds tanked it themselves. If we have to lose I would rather it be to them than the deadbirds.

But they had still better beat the snot out of the deadbirds. they can crash and burn in the next round, but this one, they'd better show up and kick booty.
