but votto is the main reason the team is able to continue to play into october, even if it is for one game.

They have a great pitching staff and a fourth of an offense. You can't win with that.

    you forgot 2B !!!
and yes those positions have been avg or below avg but I doubt that the reds could effort much more... choo will be gone and I doubt that BH will have a good OBP therefore his speed is not that helpfull...

I think Ludwick will have a pretty good year next season, with a spring training and without his injury he should be much better than this (quarter) season...

cozart is a solid ss and it is hard to find an big offensive upgrade without giving up defence and it would cost a lot...

so I hope weŽll see something on 3rd, catcher and 2nd base (altough we wonŽt see it because bp contract isnŽt trade friendly)

Next year it'll be Eric Wedge bashing. Or Bryan Price bashing. Or Jocketty bashing.

There's a real MVP. Not pissing down his leg in the spotlight.

Phillips hasn't seemed right the whole second half. No power. I assume he was hurt much of the time. Next year he needs more backup, fewer games. When healthy he still can play.

But the Reds do need to take an objective look at their ballclub. They need a few more bats in the lineup, proven guys.

Ya know, for those that are bashing Votto and loving on Cutch...

McCutcheon has never had 100 RBIs.... ever. Votto has twice. Just sayin.

And people are saying Cutch should be the MVP this year and all.

Agreed. It's sports! It's baseball. It's what fans do. When Cueto was laughing in the dugout I was ticked. If someone was on here all positive right now saying wait till next year or something I would be ticked also. Being depressed when your team plays like this is normal. Saying stupid stuff when you are down is normal....

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.
