Two things here. First, you'd see players (Bailey, Cueto, Latos) less likely to sign extensions and others let it be known they were unhappy. Second, this would contribute to an overall shakeup and a bit of a restart. I've seen enough of that.

George "Sparky" Anderson played one year in the Majors for the Phillies.

Miller Huggins was a standout 2nd basemen for the Reds and Cardinals, Herzog had a nice career as a spare OF.

Those are Tony Larussa's career statistics.

On your first point, those are more likely if Price leaves not Baker. And on the second part, again the pitching philosophy was changed when Price came here, and that turned out just swell. The hitting could likely use the same overhaul in approach, and philosophy.

You have a better chance at winning the lottery than you do with the Reds firing Dusty Baker.

If Baker's fired, Price isn't likely to return. He has options.

On topic Price would be my guy, and I hope if Baker does stay he would accept a "Manager in Waiting" title. Even if in secret so as Dusty wouldn't be seen as a lame duck.

Outside the organization, I have heard about Walt liking David Bell, and I have heard the often used hot name of Dave Martinez.

Sorry, that was just my list of guys who I would like to see as the next Reds manager. Outside of those guys, I don't see an improvement over Baker.

Al Lopez would be a good fit... if he wasn't dead!

Sparky had one season with the Phillies in 1959 - lackluster performance.

The only place to see your list managing is in a corn field in Iowa.
