    Re: Dusty out as manager

Apparently it's not clear if he was fired or resigned.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Yahoo and AP reporting. They don't know if he was fired or stepped down on his own.

I hope they hire Price. Great pitching coach and deserves a chance to manage.

I wonder how much celebratory beer consumption will spike tonight in Reds Country.

All joking aside, I saw this coming. The team simply fell apart the last few weeks of the season. That's how the sword can still fall on a 90-win team. And if the sword is going to fall, the manager is oftentimes going to be the first person to feel it.

    thx Dusty...

    hope youŽll stay healthy...

now the question is whoŽll be the next ripping boy at redszone
and yeah, Brian Price was great as pitching coach but its amusing that heŽll never gets mentioned in the bullpen usage discussion (he had something to say in those situations aswell)

Duncan and TLR are both about 70. I'm not sure I would want someone at that age to manage sans Jack MacKeon.
I hope they give Price a shot. He's a great pitching coach and I think he could be a good manager. He seems to be tough on his pitchers and hopefully he could be tough with the others when needed.

Rumor... Bob C. was not happy with Dusty's handling of the BP ripping of C. Trent.

I like the idea of hiring from within as we have a number of viable candidates.

    DeShields
    Riggleman

Thank You Dusty, for the memories. You took a group of young players and molded them to be a winning team. That hasn't happened around here for a long time. You will always have my thanks for that.
The Sox traded Bullfrog the only player they've got for Shottenhoffen. Four-eyes Shottenhoffen a utility infielder. They've got a whole team of utility infielders.

    Dusty out as manager

Sorry for dusty, but glad as a reds fan. It means bobc was indeed as angry as a lot of the fans over how this ended this year, and should portend other necessary moves. Pressure really on Walt now.
