pat pacillo never pitched a no hitter. is there a reason you don't know how to use capital letters?

and can i let you in on a secret -- i hate the cardinals - i don't believe they are a good team even the years they somehow won the world series. i don't believe they have prospects just future people waiting to sue jack clark.

and let me also tell you this, it was blind luck that pujols didn't take them up on their contract and stay -- it wasn't any strategy.

I agree! They were very lucky. I don't think Cards' ownership really wanted to resign Pujols for more than 5 years though. They probaby felt backed into a corner and had to make a big offer or would get backlash from their fans. I really do think the Cardinals ownership was relieved when Pujols didn't accept their offer.

You do know that makes you look very bitter, right?

EDIT: I do agree with you, however, on the Pujols thing. That was pure luck he didn't accept the offer. Look at the side effects of Pujols not signing. Cardinals select Wacha. They resign both Yadi and Wainwright to long term deals, which they couldn't do with a massive Pujols contract. Craig is still blocked and who knows what happens to Matt Adams. Out of all the luck that the Red Zones members accuse the Cardinals of having, Pujols not signing with the Cardinals is the luckiest thing to happen to the organization in at least 30 years in my opinion.

Sure, then why not just offload any great players the Reds get? They could save a bunch of money that way. And the perfect guy to bring back to run the operation would be John Allen.

It worked for the Cardinals not just because they had suitable replacements but also because Albert Pujols was a latin 32 years old with some being skeptical as to whether his production would hold up in an environment more restrictive on synthetic substances.

Plenty of room over on the Cards' Bandwagon.

I would say Joey Votto would drive you to St. Louis but he'd probably only WALK you there... he doesn't drive anyone in.

I nominate for one of the worst threads of the year. (I know I've done very little to boost it, but I think it is a lost cause)

It's a Sunday surprise. You never know what's really in the box. You could be getting 32 or you could be getting 38.
