I think we're saying the same thing. If only two teams are willing to bid on you instead of ten, it is likely to dramatically affect the money you get. I think it cost Michael Bourn and Kyle Lohse tens of millions of dollars in guaranteed money last year. Bronson could have easily suffered the same fate if the Reds gave him a QO and he turned it down. I happen to not think he would have turned it down.

Yes, I agree with that.

Losing a draft picks knocks many teams out of the bidding process. But it depends if it goes from 10 to 5, or 10 to 1.

I'm interested in seeing how the QO affects Stephen Drew.
He hasn't really been an impact player consistently, despite putting up a nice year in Boston.

I agree....his story will be an interesting one. Drew is a weak player with the QO burden. Bora$$ scoffed at the idea that Drew would settle for 3 years at 12Mil per year. He isn't worth more than that.
