Price has used word "unity" a lot in presser #reds
Jocketty: Once we had the meeting with Bryan, we saw no reason to go forward (with other candidates). #reds
Tie choice aside, I liked everything we heard from Price at the Press conference. It's obvious that he's intelligent and articulate about baseball and things beyond. He seems to have understanding behind the psychology of a successful clubhouse and on-the-field team. He's not opposed to the use of statistics in the game, but he understands that numbers aren't the only thing that should be considered. He was a great choice for Dusty's replacement and I'm extremely happy that they hired him. Really looking forward to see how this team performs with Price at the helm.

Wasn't real giddy about the signing but really didn't want to lose Price either. Glad he's the guy after hearing some of these reports.
Curious to see the "best team" that him and Jocketty can put out there..

I was pleased with Price's answer.
I don't want a manager who is involved in the current battle over "traditional" stats and "advanced stats." I want a manager who uses all stats available, almost all of which supply meaningful information.
The big flaw I see with both sides of the debate is when they reject the other side.
Batting average, RBIs, ERA, these are all important stats. OPS+, wRC+, FIP, also important stats. A manager should consider them all, in context.
The debate is for debators. For a manager, I want somebody open minded.

I when Castellini said "freaking" in reading the now-famous Arroyo quote about Price in his opening statement.
