    Love it.

Could have done much worse. He was my number two choice, behind Martinez from Tampa.

I'm not sure that splash is what was needed. I'm on board with the hiring.

I think it's fair to say Dusty was fired so that Price could be hired. Walt seems to be on the same page with Price and the guy has bee an amazing coach.

On top of everything else, the Reds just got a whole lot more SABR.
    I'm not a system player. I am a system.

    So no Paul O'Neill?

Kidding. This comes as no surprise. I'm all for it.

Seriously? I mean, if so, I'm glad. But where are you getting this from? I must have missed something.

Congrats to Price by the way. He has earned this.

This was blazingly simple but the complexity of life with oNeil, bench, Larkin, pinella, rolen, riggleman, Mattingly, or griffey made things painful and uncertain enough.

Glad he is still in the organization but I'm not sure that he is any sort of material upgrade. I guess time will tell. We have seen a lot of grass is greener situations play out over the past few years, hopefully this one pans out.

Too lazy to look it up but I've always been under the impression he was SABR-minded.

Are there managers who actually do rank as a material upgrade? I mean, given all the uncertainty about what difference they actually make?
