Yeah they demoted Murphy to 1B coach this year in favor of Mottola. Then they fired both of them, and Murphy then retired.
Maybe a good job would make him reconsider.

Am I the only one who felt like Price had a number of comments that were pretty clearly in support of Votto?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.
I didn't read anything negative toward Votto in his words.
He better support the superstar or life will get hard fast.

One reason could be that pitching coaches are visible. We see them going out to the mound to talk to pitchers, this gives them screen time and notoriety. We never see a hitting coach go out to T Frazier after he swings at a first pitch in the dirt to give him stategy.
Charlie Lau and Ted Kluzewski for two. Rudy Jaramillo has a lot of adherents, too, maybe as the best today.
