This team badly needed a change in the dugout, so yes, I'm happy.

Knowing very little about how he will manage the Reds, it's way too early to make have an informed opinion.

He's been with the team for four seasons and he's considered one of the best pitching coaches in the businesses. We probably know more about Price than most any other manager the Reds might have hired.

I know plenty about him as a pitching coach, but with that said, he hasn't managed a game. I can only speak for myself but that doesn't tell me much.

“More than anything, it’s strike zone command. It’s understanding what a good pitch looks like and being able to put a good pass on it and put ball on the barrel with frequency. I don’t know if that’s a philosophy. That’s trying to get back to the fundamentals of baseball.

I didn't ask for an informed opinion.

    I just asked or

    Shun the non-believers.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

    Re: Bryan Price - Poll

    Positives:

    1. He's obviously a smart well prepared guy.

    2. He's respected by the players.

    3. He will emphasise pitching.

    4. He knows the team and the organization.

    Possible negative:

    1. We needed a change. Is he a big enough of a change?
