    Lincecum Deal

Maybe this will be enough for people to realize the Reds won't be able to re-sign Homer.

    Re: Lincecum Deal

Interesting move for both. Giants limit risk on the years, but give him a higher AAV than his recent performance merits.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Is he still a starter or are they making him a reliever/closer?

You also don't pay Barry Zito $133M over 7 years, but that didn't stop the Giants.
