I can't believe McCarver was right about something, but I don't think you could pick a worse choice to pitch to Nava with a runner on 3rd than a righty sinker guy.

With no elbow guard that doesn't hit Carlos the Great.

Indeed. Matheny misuses Maness at times.... Almost always costs then runs.

It didn't take Farrell long to return the favor, though, making McCarver right about taking Doubront out, too. That has to be a record, right?

Not as badly as Farrell misusing Breslow... Or should, I say uses Breslow. Seriously, he does realize that this is the World Series, right?

Both pitching staffs digging holes each inning. It's making things interesting.

If he can't rely on Breslow and Tazawa, he has no one to go to other than Uehara. Those 3 were what got them this far, the rest of their pen is Doubront, Dempster, Brandon Workman, and Franklin Morales.

Doubront was doing fine. Tied game, stick with the former starter. Or get multiple innings from Tazawa and Uehara.

Breslow has been really good all season, and even better in the postseason until 2 days ago. But I agree about not sticking with Doubront longer than 2 innings in that situation, I didn't understand that. At least the game hasn't been boring.

I'd rather be watching the St. Louis Browns and Boston Braves.
