    Walt interview (with Cunningham)

    On Votto
"He (Joey Votto) has to fit better into the role we see for him, or he might have to hit in a different spot in the order..... that's something Bryan will certainly approach Joey with, and something we will discuss. There are certain things he has to do."

Walt on BP comments about Bob Castellini:
"Yes, he was wrong, we handled it internally and will continue to handle it internally."

Walt on Dusty not breaking up the BP and C. Trent incident
"It should have happened, it didn't,"--

    Walt on coaching staff changes
"I think there may need to be some changes, yes."

    Walt on 2014 season
"We are going to take a much tougher approach to preparing this club, I know what it takes to win."

    On Choo
"In Choo's heart I think he really enjoyed playing here & loved the city. If it is truly up to him, I think he will stay."

The Votto comments are most interesting. If this isn't calling him out, mildly at least, I don't know what is. It seems like fans weren't the only ones frustrated by Joey's strange approach at the plate and to the game in general.

And Votto's complete silence regarding Dusty's firing and Price's hiring - when virtually every other member of the team has chimed in - is more than a little interesting.

I've been wanting Votto to bat second for years now. I hope that's the end result of this situation.

The old "you can't hit 2 LHs back-to-back in the order" has to go, too.

Is it ever up to the Player when they have an agent like Boras?

    Lately, yes.

Boros got burned big time with his decision to opt out of A-Rod's first mega deal when he was on the Yankees. A-Rod fired him for it. Since then, Boras gives his clients much more say. He's had to, in order to keep them.

Wrt the Votto comments, I'm glad this is going to be addressed.

Regarding Choo sounds like Walt intends on making a serious offer. We'll see if it's enough for Mr. Boras.

Reminiscent of Carson Palmer after Marvin was re-hired a few yrs back...

If that's the outcome, then it's only a matter of time until they trade Votto.

That contract makes him untradeable. No one will take that on. We're married for better or for worse

I can understand when it comes to player options, but Choo is obviously a free agent and Boras' job is to garner him the best contract possible. It will be up to the Reds to produce a competitive offer.

Not true at all. As long as he stays healthy and produces, he will be tradeable early in the contract.

I'd rather have an end result of Joey having an OPS 100 points higher. If he goes back to >1.000 OPS, he will not be hitting 2nd.
