From what speculation I've heard, he hurt his hand while flipping off everyone in the clubhouse as hard as he could.

In all seriousness, I hope he's back to 100% in time for next season, whether he's in Cincinnati or not.

Hopefully it's something that can be fixed relatively quickly.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Hopefully it doesn't ruin his post-baseball plans to be a hand model.

No ill will, but if he never does a Northland VW commercial again, I wouldn't be too sad about it.

Ray McKigney's hand was forever ruined.

This can't help his trade value.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

It won't. The albatross weighs a little heavier.

Yep, forget the trade talk for now. Maybe if he comes back strong they move him at the deadline.

So when did he hurt his hand? Could this possibly explain why he was great for two months and then garbage all the way through October? I like that explanation a lot more than, "he's washed up".

If he was playing hurt with a bum hand, why did he not go see this guy months ago? Did the Reds not have enough pull to get him an appointment before now?

That is assuming he disclosed the injury to the team...
