I don't think Choo has a chance sadly, they go specific position in the OF, so you have the guy in CF that will win in McCutchen. As for RF, I don't know who will win that, Cuddyer? Puig? Bruce?

I agree with most of your picks though.

I don' think they go specific position in the OF.

    *2011 AL
    Jose Bautista(RF)
    Jacoby Ellsbury(CF)
    Curtis Granderson(CF)

    *2008 AL
    Josh Hamilton(CF)
    Carlos Quentin(LF)
    Grady Sizemore(CF)

Even if they really go specific position, I think Choo has an edge over McCutchen.

    wOBA: Choo(.393), McCutchen(.393)
    wRC+: Choo(151), McCutchen(155)
    wRAA: Choo(44.0), McCutchen(41.7)
    wRC: Choo(122), McCutchen(116)
    RC: Choo(120.7), McCutchen(118.7)
    RC27: Choo(7.65), McCutchen(7.54)
    WPA: Choo(5.4), McCutchen(4.5)
    RE24: Choo(49.94), McCutchen(40.17)
    Offensive WAR: Choo(6.3), McCutchen(7.5)

Re: Who are your Silver Slugger Award winners?

    2012= McCutchen- CF
    Bruce- RF
    Braun- LF

    2011= Kemp- CF
    Upton-RF
    Braun-LF

    2010= Carlos Gonzalez-CF/LF/RF
    Braun-LF
    Holliday- LF

The award might not be as position specific, as the infield but a couple of years ago the made an effort to have the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove more based on each spot.

But there does not seem to be hard rules against just any OFer unlike the Gold Glove which is now position based.

Re: Who are your Silver Slugger Award winners?

    Put me down for:

    -AL-

    1B: Chris Davis (BAL)
    2B: Robinson Cano (NYY)
    3B: Miguel Cabrera (DET)
    SS: Jed Lowrie (OAK)
    OF: Mike Trout (LAA)
    OF: Jose Bautista (TOR)
    OF: Adam Jones (BAL)
    CA: Joe Mauer (MIN)
    DH: Edwin Encarnacion (TOR)

    -NL-

    1B: Joey Votto (CIN)
    2B: Matt Carpenter (STL)
    3B: Ryan Zimmerman (WSH)
    SS: Troy Tulowitzki (COL)
    OF: Andrew McCutchen (PIT)
    OF: Shin-Soo Choo (CIN)
    OF: Jayson Werth (WSH)
    CA: Yadier Molina (STL)
    PT: Zack Greinke (LAD)

I'm sort of shocked by how unbalanced things were at 3B (AL crushes) and OF (NL crushes). And yes, I went 100% by the OFF category at Fangraphs.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

If Werth had played a few more games, I would also have voted him instead of Holliday.

Re: Who are your Silver Slugger Award winners?

I like Votto and he did amazing things, but I think Goldshmidt gets the Silver Slugger at 1B.

Most RBIs in the NL and tied for most HR.

Also he beats out Votto in Runs scored, Hits, Doubles, Homeruns, RBI, Stolen Bases, SLG, OPS, and WAR.

Also he had 99 BB and hit for .302 vs Votto's 135 BB and hit for .305
    2014 Attendance 0-3
    3/31/14, 4/12/14, 8/14/15

    2013 Attendance: 6-0
    4/3/13, 4/16/13, 4/17/13, 8/3/13, 8/21/13, 9/7/13

Re: Who are your Silver Slugger Award winners?

I'll vote NL only... Since that's the only league I really track.

    1B: Paul Goldschmidt(ARI
    2B: Matt Carpenter(STL)
    3B: Chris Johnson (ATL)
    SS: Troy Tulowitzki(COL)
    OF: Andrew McCutchen (PIT)
    OF: Michael Cuddyer (COL)
    OF: Matt Holliday(STL)
    C: Yadier Molina (STL)
    P: Zack Greinke(LAD)

Only one I'm really close on is Cuddyer.... I could trade him for Werth.

I was talking to a Nats fan today and he said how impressed he was with Jayson Werth this season, especially down the stretch. I knew the Nats went on a tear at the end of the season, but didn't realize Werth was part of the spark behind it. Werth's first 2 seasons in DC weren't the greatest, but he definitely did what he was brought in to do this year.

We have to use wOBA instead of OPS and wRC+ instead of OPS+ because OPS is a considerably imprecise stat which is weighted in favor of slugging percentage(slugger) in spite of the fact that OBP(the high-OBP player) is much more important than SLG(the slugger) for the offense.

    Votto: .400wOBA(.926OPS), 156wRC+(154OPS+)
    Goldschmidt: .404wOBA(.952OPS), 156wRC+(160OPS+)

I guess it depends on who is voting. OBP can be driven up by walks, which is much better than an out, but Hits and SLG is what moves runs across the plate. I'd tend to weight heavier towards batting stats rather than OBP for the SS award.
