    That's an excellent question and definitely worth looking into. But if GABP suppresses doubles, then why did it only show up last year. The years before, Votto was a doubles machine before the injury.

    One possible explanation is that his injury sapped his power just enough to turn what were doubles into singles. When you catch a home run pitch, you don't need a lot of strength to hit it out. But turning a normal line drive into a shot to the wall needs just a little extra humph, which Votto may have been lacking last year. Balls going over fielder's heads before, were now going into their gloves.

    It could also be the result of better defensive positioning by the other teams. It could be randomness. It could be a combination of all.
    "But I do know Joey's sister indirectly (or foster sister) and I have heard stories of Joey being into shopping, designer wear, fancy coffees, and pedicures."
