25 Man Roster using past 25 Years

    https://www.brewcrewball.com/2018/2/...waukee-brewers

i saw this on a Brewers' blog. They chose a 25-man roster taking players from the past 25 years, and they chose each player's best year. I thought it might be a good off-season exercise.

I'll begin with this starting rotation:

    Jose Rijo (1992)
    Johnny Cueto (2012)
    Pete Schourek (1995)
    Brett Tomko (1997)
    Aaron Harang (2007)

I'll take Votto's 2017 season for first base.

Rounding out the rest of the infield:
    Phillips (2007)
    Larkin (1996)
    Greene (1997)

    And the outfield:
    Vaughn (1999)
    Choo (2013)
    Dunn (2004)

    And catcher:
    Mesoraco (2014)

I was thinking the same thing. I don't see anyone else that played for the team in the last 25 years having a better year than he did at that position. Not even close.

How about a 1999 Pete Harnisch instead or 97 Tomko?

Votto 2010 and 2012 (pre-injury) would give him a other possible choices.

I thought about both of those, but the BB/K ratio knocked out 2010, and lack of games played knocked out 2012. I really would like to have seen Votto finish out 2012 just to see how many doubles he could have hit.

    1995 Sanders might work too.
