If you don't want Krampus to get you then don't do anything naughty.

Well, I'll be darned. I could have swore this demon was created by the PC-Police to harm mean people who dare utter that terrible word CHRISTMAS.

My apartment in Austria was right on the Krampus parade route. Pretty fun to watch, but some of the Krampi were more interested in pretty ladies rather than delinquent children.

How do they determine which children are delinquent? Are kids just grabbed randomly?

I have a friend who said she was whipped by Krampus in Germany, another says her neighbors have a huge Krampus figure in their front yard with saint Nick

If they're outdoors, assume delinquency. Good rule of thumb even if you're not a Krampus.

Meanwhile in the Netherlands, controversy has arisen over St. Nicholas' other, um, companion.

I've been to Amsterdam a few times in my youth, but not for the Christmas celebrations. We had other activities in mind. If I'm ever back in Europe at Christmas time, I think I'll stick with Austria and the Krampus parades. And the Christkindlmarkts are pretty good. I recommend the Glühwein.
