The Orioles have agreed to a deal with South Korean hurler Suk-min Yoon, pending physical, that will guarantee him $5.575MM over three years. But the deal's escalator provisions could significantly increase its total value over that span.
The contract features a slightly backloaded structure. Yoon will receive a $675K signing bonus, then earn $750K for the coming season, $1.75MM in 2015, and $2.4MM in 2016. Yoon can trigger a $1.25MM bump in each future year's salary by reaching a games-started target. The total value is said to be capable of reaching $13MM. The deal also allows Yoon to become a free agent after three years and provides some mechanism to protect him from a minor league demotion.

Talks between Cruz and Seattle are on hold, reports Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com. With disagreement over contract value persisting, the club may be turning its attention to other priorities, says Cotillo.

9:25am: The Braves announced that they have extended standout right-hander Julio Teheran to a six-year extension that runs through the 2019 season and contains an option for the 2020 campaign. Teheran is a client of Relativity Baseball.
9:55am: Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports (via Twitter) that Teheran's extension is worth a guaranteed $32.4MM, meaning he falls slightly short of Madison Bumgarner's $35MM record for a pitcher with one to two years of Major League service time.
10:08am: Jon Heyman of CBS Sports tweets that the option is valued at $12MM and contains a $1MM buyout.
This is the type of deal that I hope the Reds consider more often. I know it takes the player to be willing to do this type of contract, but I hope the Reds would approach Cingrani, and maybe Stephenson, if he looks legit in a couple of years, about one of these deals.

Minor Moves: Robinson, Knapp, Egan, Morillo, Garrison, Wrigley, Geer, Johnson
Reliever Pat Egan has signed with the Reds, Eddy tweets. Though he has yet to crack the bigs at age 29, the towering righty has found success in recent seasons at the upper reaches of the minors. In 2013 with the Braves organization, Egan notched a 2.95 ERA in 73 1/3 innings (though he was better at Double-A than Triple-A). And in 2012, he was good for 67 innings of 1.61 ERA ball for the Orioles' top affiliates.
