It's worth remembering that bourbon is already watered down going from barrel proof to bottle proof, so it's just a matter of personal taste, really.

Speaking of bringing out flavors, I've heard people say that the twice-barreled bourbons (e.g. Maker's 46) can benefit from a little breathing after the pour, similar to a red wine.

I agree that adding some water brings out flavor, just being playful earlier. A few drops of water does indeed bring out flavor. Ice, however, does nothing but dull flavor. But as Jimmy Russell says, don't let anyone else tell you how to drink your bourbon!

I'm with Reds1869. Neat is how it's meant to be done!

I'll drink any kind of microbrew/craft beer if I am drinking beer.

If I'm in a sipping hard liquor kind of mood I always go to my favorite Scotch Whisky, Macallans. (http://www.themacallan.com/the-whisky/fine-oak/)

For you bourbon drinkers, try Macallans neat. You will be surprised by the flavor. It finishes very smooth and sweet.

I think that goes without saying; but for me, that comes to a budget issue nine times out of ten.

No secret here that I'm a bourbon guy myself. One ice cube (sorry reds1869). I very much enjoy a good old fashioned, also.

I've branched out a little recently to the occasional gin and tonic, but I've never bought a bottle of gin in my life and wouldn't know a good one if it bit me.

Sometimes I like bourbon neat and sometimes I like some ice. Just depends.

I also like good ice. The cloudy stuff from my fridge doesn't hack it. I like the clear tinkly ice that's store bought.

And I share a good glass of red wine with the spousal unit often times.

I read that it you boil your water before making ice cubes, you'll get nice clear ones. Never tried it.

Drink of choice .... hmm .... I like margaritas but they make me do naughty things so I stick to a cold beer. I'm not in my 20s anymore.

I love booze, but I will never understand how anyone on this planet can drink and *enjoy* straight whiskey. You all are freaking INSANE.

What cocktails do folks prefer? I'm partial to a Manhattan now and then.

I see some sweet, sweet racial stereotypes playing out in your graph!
