"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
~ Mark Twain

If I am drinking liquor either Green Tea Vodka and Lemonade or Segrams and Ginger ale.
Most of the time I stick to beer.
I like beer. it makes me a jolly good fellow
I like beer. it helps me unwind and sometimes it makes me feel mellow
Whiskey's too rough, champagne costs too much, vodka puts my mouth in gear
This little refrain should help me explain as a matter of fact I like beer
I'm assuming the idea is to exclude beer so...
1. English Naval Rum (preferably made with Lord Nelson or Lady Bligh)
2. straight rum; preferably Captain Morgan Private Stock or The Kraken
3. Wild Turkey American Honey
4. Cladestine's Absinthe

yes, this really is how we make our living.
Any brown liquor. I like Jameson on the rocks and Old Fashions, but will mix it up from time to time.
I also drink a lot of wine. I usually prefer California reds, but same thing will mix it up a lot.
My favorite beer is Newcastle, but again I mix it up a lot. I've been drinking a lot of Leiny's Snow Drift Porter the last few weeks.
The widow is gathering nettles for her children's dinner; a perfumed seigneur, delicately lounging in the Oeil de Boeuf, hath an alchemy whereby he will extract the third nettle and call it rent. ~ Carlyle
a good bourbon on the rocks in the winter.
mojitos in the summer with garden-picked mint.
and beer year round.
Pay attention to the open sky
Bourbon is my "drink of choice," but in reality, I drink more red wine than anything else because that's what the missus buys. I also get beer every now and then, usually Guinness or something else with a little heft. I'm not much of a drinker overall, but mixing it up keeps me from getting bored with any of it.
Not all who wander are lost
All you people pouring bourbon on the rocks are watering good whisky. Neat is the only way to go in my book.
My favorite go-to bourbon is Four Roses Single Barrel. It has yet to let me down. Though I'm also a sucker for the higher proof incarnations of Wild Turkey, especially Kentucky Spirit.
Second that, Four Roses Single Barrel is good stuff.
I drink bourbon neat occasionally. It kind of depends on the bourbon -- many of them seem to taste better with a little ice. Key phrase being "a little" -- no more than a cube per ounce, not a half-glassful like they might give you at a bar. Just enough to cool it down, open it up and take a touch of the harsh edge off. Of course, my favorite bourbons are the ones where it's not necessary.
