    I remember reading a Baseball Digest article about the trade way back when I was 9. The article quoted one manager as saying something like, "Templeton has a stronger arm than Smith. The fans behind first base know it -- that's where most of his throws end up."

    Side note: How awesome was Baseball Digest back in the day?
