Jon Moscot. Starting pitcher, has some stuff to work with, finished his season in AA, quality numbers and even better if you ignore his first few starts in April which were atrocious.

I almost jumped the gun and went with Jeremy Kivel here but he's still a ways off. I went Moscot over SMB just because I value pitching more.

Re: Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #9

Let me just add a couple glimmers into SMB - he is the 2013 Chief Bender Award winner as Reds minor league player of the year. He led the league at 1B AND 3B for fielding pct although he came up short in qualifying games because he basically split between the two. He played first as an organizational need last summer not because of any shortcoming at third! In fact he is an excellent defender at either position. He slugged a walk off grand slam down three to Beloit - maybe the most dramatic win in Dayton history. Finally he progressed at the plate throughout the year - his numbers rose almost every month across the board - Pct, Slg and OBP. After a really cold start he heated up and hit very well with a mammoth July.

I'm voting for Moscot, hoping he will some day appear in the "light reading" leaflet at the end of this clip.

"Man, the pitch looks fast, even in slow motion." Thom Brennaman on Chapman's fastball.
