The reason why I want the Reds to win the World Series is so that I can be proud of them. If they win the World Series with a known PED user on the team, I wouldn't be proud of them, I'd be embarrassed.
We were rumored to pick up Volquez last year. Are you meaning to tell me that if we picked him up and won the WS you would be disappointed?

Right. I didn't know the exact context of why you were saying that. I was curious as to what you were referring to.

Absolutely. Though mostly because he's not a good pitcher.

Vaughn hit 50 homers the year before, and over 40 two years before that. How are you saying it was PED induced?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

I am saying that the notion no reds have ever used is silly, and Vaughn in those years including his reds season falls under the suspicion cloud that folks place on that era, yes.

How does Vaughn fall under suspicion? Just because he hit a lot of home runs? You will need to provide more proof then that.

    Matt Holiday conveniently forgives Peralta

    I don't have to, no.

Eta: again, it's silly to assume no red ever has , or that no red is currently doing it. My tongue in cheek point was that if reds are doing it, I hope they get the bang for the buck like the cards players seem to . And yes, I get to be suspicious of whatever seasons i want to through that era. The players union and ownership reaped that with what they allowed to go on.

Greg Vaughn, yeah maybe... I can play the usual game, played with a user (Ken Caminitti) hit a lot of HR's, more than average by a lot, he had 6 seasons from 1991-2000 that he had 11 more than the league average.

    Is that insane?

    Not really

Around half of those guys on the list are either known PED users, or strongly suspected PED users.

I don't know if Vaughn used, but there's more reason to suspect him than there is for most players. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he used around his time with the Reds.

Shredded Wheat always worked better for me. But not the mini kind.
