I'd go Latos, Bailey, then Cueto.

I think they'll be able to get 2 of the 3.
I think Cueto will be the odd man out.

I agree with this. I hope they attempt to offer Latos a similar deal to the one currently rumored to Bailey. I think the time to strike on Latos is now as well. With 2 Arb years left, they can take some dollars off the market price long term in order to guarantee Mat higher dollars in the short term.

I love that I'm on record saying Bailey is the best of the three BEFORE news of his 6-year, $100 million contract broke. It's still not finalized, but sure sounds like it will be soon.

WOOHOO! I think the Reds will eventually sign either Latos or Cueto long-term, but not both of them. I'm hoping it's Latos, but I'm optimistic Cueto will have a bounce-back year.

I think it all depends on the price. With it looking like Homer will make about $18M a year from 2015-2019, there will be some constraints on what we can pay a 2nd pitcher.

I might take Cueto at $10-15M a year over Latos at $20-25M a year. We'll just have to see how it plays out.

Another factor to consider is the potential trade value of whichever guy isn't able to be extended. If it's possible that next offseason Latos can bring you a top notch young, cheap LF in trade, that would make losing him a lot more palatable.

When its all said and done, Bailey might end up being better. But Latos is a year younger and if you look at their numbers for the past 4 seasons, Latos gets the edge.

With that said, having both of them on the pitching staff jousting for the ace position is an excellent problem to have.
