    2014 Sochi Olympics

I personally love the Olympics. This year I am without television, so I will not be watching as much as I would like. Anyone know any websites streaming coverage? Anyways, post anything Winter Olympics related here you would like to discuss.

I am very excited for men's hockey and the spectacle that is Shaun White.

Leading up to the games, I think the following articles are quite odd and disturbing:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...l-experiences/

The yellow "dangerous" water made me want to vomit, and the open manhole cover is quite scary. No thanks.

    http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/05/world/...hi-stray-dogs/

Also, there are reports the Russians are rounding up stray dogs and poisoning them.

    Russia, everybody!

What do you mean? As in America is not going to do very well in the medal count?

Just like it is here, any unexpected death is likely to happen via auto accident than anything else, just at a higher rate.

RedTeamGo, I know this doesn't help, but if you don't care about the broadcast language, there will be dozens and dozens of worldwide streams. Use the normal filters and you should be good to go.

    What are the normal filters?

    Thanks for the advice

No. Just that it is a very volatile situation over there on the terrorism front.

I love the Winter Olympics, as you might have gathered from my avatar, but I am worried that Sochi and Russia are going to botch it. The political stuff has also left me ambivalent.

I am very worried about these games as well. Already we have heard about "black widow" female terrorist inside the "green zone", as well as local groups saying the wish to kidnap athletes, and groups claiming they will wreak havoc on the games. Having the games in Sochi in my opinion was a horrible place to have the Olympics at and Russia has done a horrible job so far. Reports are already coming back that lots of hotels where people will be staying don't have heat...just a mess so far it sounds like!!!

My favorite events in the Winter Olympics
    1) Downhill - These people are insane.
    2) Luge/Skeleton - So are these people
    3) Biathalon - Quirky and fun
    4) Ski Jumping - It makes my knees hurt watching them land
    5) Bobsled - Not as cool as Luge, but close
    6) Hockey
    7) Curling - It looks like fun
    .....
    125) Figure Skating - Shouldn't they just have a jumping competition? That seems to be the only part of the routine that matters. I am also leery of any sport that has judges.

I think attacks are always a concern with events like this, but I think CNN and Fox News are going overboard trying to create a controversial storyline. I visited my parents a couple weeks ago and my mother had CNN on and was convinced there is going to be an attack.

I'm not talking about attacks, but rather stuff like killing dogs and not being ready to handle the events, generally. Also not looking forward to what happens in Brazil this summer, either.

Yeah, the dog stuff is terrible. I think Brazil will be fine, Western media tends to blow events in countries such as South Africa and Brazil out of proportion.
