Redzone Minor League Prospect Ranking #34 & 35

Juan Duran and Jackson Stephens won the last two rounds. On to 34 and 35. Amazingly, there are still some very good (potentially) prospects.

I went with LaMarre and Rahier this time.

LaMaree's proximity to the majors as atleast a 4/5th OF, with plus defense, and OBP skills has value to me. If some of the things Doug has mentioned he did in the second half carryover, he could be a candidate to be more than that.

Chacin, then a narrow call between LaMarre and Silva. Went with Silva.

Sticking with Josh Smith, who has been pretty good at every level, but changing my second vote from Romano to Chacin, who has put up good numbers.

I'm going out on a limb and calling Avain Rachal - he has phenomenal discipline but he will need to add some power. Still young and should stick at second with no problem. I believe in this kid and expect him to climb levels pretty smoothly. He'll get on base but how often will end up depending on whether he develops power to keep pitchers honest. Floor should be a pretty safe bet to make it as a utility infielder, given that plate discipline (more walks than Ks!). His ceiling, imo, will depend on the power he ends up with. If he remains a singles hitter he's a utility guy. 8-12 homers a year and some doubles and he is starter someday. Admittedly, the power is a question mark. Glove is good but not overwhelming. Needs to cut errors but that's not unusual at Billings. One thing - he has learned to wear a cup:

Speaking of 2nd basemen I need to get Alberti Chavez on the list really soon.

Lamarre and Christiani for me, two guys I expect to see on the Reds by the end of the year. I like Rachal better than both, but he's farther away and I am once bitten by Henry Rodriguez and his low SLG.

Rachal and Rahier again for me. Still confounded by the Duran love.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Went with Rahier and Romano. Can't go wrong with good, young talent
