    Reds Chants and One-Liners

Hi guys, I'm doing a school project where we're making beer bottle labels. I wanted to make one for the Reds since my boyfriend's from Cincinnati.

I was wondering if there were any chants or announcer one-liners that Reds fans love so I could cover the label in them. If you know what era they're from could you let me know too? If not, it's not a big problem.

Thank you guys so much in advance if anyone answers. I'll post a pic of the label when it's done!

    -Kylie

Talked to my professor about my idea and he wants me to try and find nicknames and quotes too. Pretty much anything special to the Reds I can put in text. If anyone could help with that too, I'd really appreciate it.

Rounding Third and headed for Home. - Joe Nuxhall

The Old Left Hander (I think this would be a great name for a beer)

This is the best one IMO.

Maybe a ballpark themed image or the wishbone C, with "Rounding Third and headed for Home. - Joe Nuxhall" running vertically up one side and "And this one belongs to the Reds - Marty Brennamen" running down the other side. Maybe a "Since 1876" across the bottom.

Would be pretty cool and a nice homage to one of the best broadcasting duos in history.

Bonus points if it says 19%, 4.0%, 7.5%, 7.6%, or 9.0% ABV. Championship years of course, and would be a fun little Easter Egg for anyone who figured it out.

Whew I just kind of nerded out on this one. Fun thread, Kylie.

When it comes to the Reds, a 3 letter acronym is a good place to start...

B-R-M (Big Red Machine) - would look good on a beer bottle label!

    Also, a quote:

-"And this one belongs to the Reds" - Long-time Reds' broadcaster Marty Brennaman says this with every Reds' win.

EDIT: Didn't see Old School's response when I posted this...

Marty saying "....and this one belongs to the Reds" is the old standby for me.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and was especially fond of our rosters that featured Eric Davis, Sabo, Larkin, Kal Daniels, Big Dave Parker, etc. and so on. Many nights I fell asleep with the radio on tuned in to Marty and Joe.

Thanks for all the responses! "Rounding third..." & "And this one belongs..." seem like they're favorites! I like that idea about the the ABV and the championship years a lot.

Now, how will you make these labels available to us? Preferably pasted to full bottles of some Portland Ale.

As a Reds fan and a beer fan it would be cool to see this finished product!

This thread has me wondering how there is not a red beer out there called The Big Red Machine that is 7.5% ABV and 76 IBU.

As a former member of a band called The National Drink, whose flyers all consisted of various iconic booze bottles doctored to include our name instead of the brand name, my mind jumps immediately to this grandiose Reds-related concept:

    Great American Lager

Also, less pro-Reds and more a joke at the Cardinals' expense, you can always go with:

LaRussa's Field Sobriety Test Failure Ale
