    3/7/14 vs Chisox...Leake makes debut

And, Bruce Homers for the 1st time this Spring...a two-run shot (Cozart scores after having hit a Double, now batting .500 this Spring) off Philipe Paulino, projected 4th Starter for the White Sox. Bruce now hitting .400 this Spring. (personally predicting MVP-caliber (top-five in voting) season for Bruce...best finishes in MVP voting are 10th, achieved both in 2012 and 2013)

Leake gives up an opening double followed two outs later by a run-scoring single by Dunn. 1-2-3 Second for Leake.

(Paulino missed all of last season to injury...this is his second start of the Spring after getting hammered by the Rangers in his first start.)

Don't know if anyone's watching this, but Chapman just mowed down the first batter on three swing-and-misses....then he hits Adam Eaton on the next pitch (Eaton bats left).

Ouch. Spring Training might not be the best time to be facing Chapman.

    Beckham strikes out swinging.

Chapman gives up an RBI-Single to Alex Liddi after Eaton steals second off of him/Pena.

    Dunn flys out to Bruce.

In the ChiSox game, the Reds lead 3-2 going to the 5th.

Meanwhile, in the SS game Brett Marshall has thrown 3 scoreless against Seattle as the Reds lead 4-0 lead by homers by Phillips and Heisey.

Anyone watching Pena trying to stop the steals? Can he throw anybody out? Can't believe it was all on the pitchers.

    Nice. Right-handed power.

Game now tied at 8 in 6th -- I think we can say Corcino has had a bad spring.
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

    I miss Raisor

It sounds like it was quite a blast.

*Jay Bruce hit his first homer of spring, a two-run shot with two outs in the first inning. Bruce wasn’t cheated as his drive against Felipe Paulino cleared the right field fence, and the patio, and a sidewalk — before clanking off of an outside fence of Goodyear Stadium.
