wouldn't be the first time. I suppose it would depend almost entirely on if I have my family with me.

And yes, I did nitpick. What race wears jerseys and overly long sleeves?
That was "excessively long shirts" which, yes, I think it's pretty obvious that many people associate baggy/long clothing with black culture.

I'll be the first to tell you that the purpose of pants is to cover your ass and that you look like an idiot when they don't. But it doesn't shock my delicate sensibilities when I see some kid who's failing Pants 101.

It would be real interesting to see what happened if someone went in rocking the high school gym teacher look.

Don't know about the Banks but a few years ago, GAC, RFS and I wanted to go to Cadillac Ranch (Was that the name of the place on 6th and Walnut?) Anyway those two had hats on - I might have as well - and they wouldn't let us go in cause of that. So we went over to Arnold's and had a good time.

I think it is Cadillac Ranch, that place is terrible.

What is the name of that tiny bar that is down an alley? That place is fantastic.

    O'Malley's in the Alley.

Agreed on Cadillac Ranch, that was a waste of some prime downtown retail space.

I would be screwed. I almost never leave the house without a hat, no matter what I'm doing. and once I'm indoors again I usually take it off, especially at restaurants and the like.

I cry race as much as anyone on here, but I don't think this has as much to do with race as it does them putting in a stupid dress code for anything at a baseball game.

Most higher end bars won't let you in with hats though.

I'd be with them if they banned polos tucked into shorts. Or just shorts on men. Shorts are for school boys who somehow befriend Godzilla, not grown men.

According to the article, there are nine places with that dress code. I doubt they are all $100 a dinner places. If they aren't, the why the extreme dress code?

Btw, Mike Shannon's Steakhouse is across from the stadium as well. It's been there for decades, a great place to get a nice $100 dinner. They have no official dress code, as far as I know. I've seen guys violate all those other dress code rules at Mike Shannon's and no one ever said anything.

Cadillac Ranch has been closed for a year or so. A new bar is there instead and I don't know if they allow you in with a hat.

You're thinking of O'Malleys in the Alley. I like that place too but it's so small.

Seems to me these restaurants are cutting off their nose to spite their face if they have a no hats policy. People go to the game and they wear their hats to the game. Before and/or after the game they may want to stop in for a meal or a few cold ones. If you have a hat on, you can't come in. Seems like bad business to me.

My thing is though, if it is 100% about dress code, they left out a lot of obvious ones that are just as bad as anything on the list.

According to the article, it only applies during non-game days.
