Dbacks bullpen gives up hit after hit to Harrison, Mercer, Cutch, Alvarez, Michael Martinez... etc etc. Pirates up 6-4 now.

The Astros had one heck of a game tonight. Watch Singleton's inside the park HR, Grossman's rob of a HR, and LJ Hoes diving into the stands.

Milwaukee bullpen (including the immortal Zach Duke) blow a 2 run lead in the 7th. 2-2 game in St. Louis.

    3-2 Cardinals now.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

And the Brewers lose. Cards 1 game back, Reds 4.5 out of first place.

I've been saying this for awhile. 86 wins will give a team the NL Central.

Braves just lost too, as did the Dodgers, great day for the Reds in the division and WC standings.

MIL, STL, and ATL all lose while the REDS win.

    Been a very good day.

Keep in mind, the final 3 (3 games each) series of the year are:

    @STL
    Mil
    Pitt

    Timely reminder.

And on the same note, glad to see Kris Negron get back-to-back starts for the Reds. 5 for 9 the last two days against Cleveland, 4 RBI, 4 runs scored, another homer and two doubles. Ride 'em. No doubt he'll cool off but we needed a lift and he supplied it at just the right time.

    Giants lose!

A REDS' win would put us 3.0 GB them after tonight.

Yep. The Giants are slowly leaving the post season picture. Unlike the walking wounded NL Central teams. I gotta pinch myself. Don't know how we're doing it.

Cards are hanging on by a run but it will be a bullpen game very soon.

Cards getting hammered by the O's again. 8 HR's in the series and counting.

I don't follow the AL that much, but I'm watching the Orioles/Cards game and was shocked to see how poorly Chris Davis is doing this season. His numbers are night and day from last year to this year.

You DO know what era we're in.

Lance Lyne has managed to keep the ball in the park today, though constantly on the ropes. 3-2 Cards in the fifth.

    Brewers tied and Pirates losing.

They're going to be 2 games out of the Wild Card at days end.

    Unreal.
