I just watched the hightlight of his homerun today, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks it sounded just like an aluminum bat... What do you guys think?

Sounds like it to me too. But I'm not sure how he would pull it off.
Hoping to change my username to 75769024
It sounds exactly like an aluminum bat but I'm with 757690, I don't see how he could pull that off.
If The Pirates had any suspicion whatsoever you know good and well they would have been all over it, especially considering the importance of today's game to their playoff aspirations.
Is there any video from the Pirates broadcast on this? Seems pretty ridiculous, but it definitely does not sound like wood.
It didn't sound exactly like an aluminum bat hit to me (the timing is off), but I have no flipping clue what that sound was.
edit:
I just heard a different clip of the same home run, and the sound was completely different (sounded normal).

That sound is coming from the on deck circle. It is from one of those metal bats things they used to get warmed up. You can hear that several times throughout any game.
Sometimes you just hear duller thuds from the donuts and things like that, but you will hear several metal pings as well.
But the sound was coming from Phillips, not Negron.
I'm sure it was not. Can you imagine that idiot Hurdle would have let that go by? No way. I guess "cutch" gave approval, lol.
Sorry.

I just found a clip with a different sound too. Starting around 2:30 here: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/8879974...ery=pittsburgh
No "ping" sound at all. Weird.
EDIT: This gets weirder.......the second clip actually has the same announcer but different sound of the bat.

I haven't watched a game on TV all year, uncanny timing if that is what it was. Can you find a clip of a similiar sound?
