The D-backs were able to stop d-backing long enough to pull out a 4-3 win in the bottom of the 9th against "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

The A's run differential is almost 100 better than anyone else in baseball. That is just stupid.

Tino Martinez got a plaque in New York. In the monuments with the others. Tino Martinez.

A good player but come on? Are they watering this down now?

    Re: Scoreboard Watching 2014

Remember the "Dunn only hits meaningless one run home runs" narrative? It was a small part of the "we can't possibly like a guy who hits .230" time in baseball and was the easiest way to start a fight on RedsZone. Those were the salad days.

Well, John Buccigross on twitter (@buccigross) just put out a stat that Dunn has the most 9th inning go ahead home runs in baseball since 2003 (17), one more than David Ortiz and two more than Albert Pujols.

It is like the retired numbers for the Boston Celtics. They have retired the number of everyone other than Greg Kite.

I know the Cardinals were due for some bad luck offensively after the luckiest season in baseball history, but their entire team forgot how to hit this season.

Somehow Fat Adams has only walked 6 times all year.

I only see a couple guys hitting below where they should. The rest have simply regressed to what they really are and then a few are finally showing signs of normal age regression. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of ***************. (I'll let you insert your own word there. *grin*)

I open this thread about once a year.

But, it's odd that the last six games, the Brewers, Cards and REDS have identically gone....

    L, L, W, W, W, L.

Kershaw faces the Cards on Sunday!!!

    Kershaw career against the Cardinals:
    12 starts: 4-5, 3.75 ERA, 1.318 WHIP

Postseason against the Cardinals (2009, 2013):
    3 starts: 0-2, 4.86 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
I don't like to sound egotistical, but every time I stepped up to the plate with a bat in my hands, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the pitcher.

    So youre saying he's due?
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

He must be. Honestly I thought he'd have a letdown game after the no-hitter, but that didn't happen last night.

Cards DFA recently recalled Pete Kozma. I wish they'd waited until after the Kershaw start. Kozma was 3-5 with 2 doubles lifetime against him.
