Pirates lose and the Bucs radio announcers sound crestfallen.

Arroyo's first start for the D-Backs starts in about 20 minutes. I'll watch.

I'll be sad, but I'll watch.

Our old friend Matt Belisle is getting rocked.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.

Tanaka gave up a HR to his first batter.

Looks like Mike Matheny was smarter than we thought by not starting Shelby Miller during the playoffs last year. Miller's line today:

    5.1IP 6H 5ER 5R 3BB 2K 3HR

Pirates up 7-2 over Cards after 8 1/2.
"Man, the pitch looks fast, even in slow motion." Thom Brennaman on Chapman's fastball.

Now it's 9-2 Buccos with Butler throwing batting practice. Make that 11-2. STL looks flat as a pancake tonight.

Pirates beat Cards and Wainwright 2-1. Our good buddy Edinson started and pitched a solid 5 2/3 innings.

Do you think they fixed Volquez?

7.2 innings on the year and only 1 walk and 4 hits
