    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Found a mock draft I like very much....

    1. Houston Texans: Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

    2. St. Louis Rams (via WAS): Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

    3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo

    4. Cleveland Browns: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

    5. Oakland Raiders: Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M

    6. Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

    7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

    8. Minnesota Vikings: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida

    9. Buffalo Bills: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

    10. Detroit Lions: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

    11. Tennessee Titans: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA

    12. New York Giants: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh

    13. St. Louis Rams: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State

    14. Chicago Bears: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

    15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State

    16. Dallas Cowboys: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State

    17. Baltimore Ravens: C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama

    18. New York Jets: Odell Beckham, Jr., WR, LSU

** Projected Trade with Dolphins **

    19. Cleveland Browns (via IND): Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

    20. Arizona Cardinals: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame

    21. Green Bay Packers: Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois

    22. Philadelphia Eagles: Marqise Lee, WR, USC

    23. Kansas City Chiefs: Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana

    24. Cincinnati Bengals: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

    25. San Diego Chargers: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

** Projected trade with Browns **

    26. Miami Dolphins: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia

    27. New Orleans Saints: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

    28. Carolina Panthers: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

** Projected trade with Patriots **

    29. Jacksonville Jaguars: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

    30. San Francisco 49ers: Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn

    31. Denver Broncos: Tevlin Smith, LB, Florida State

    32. Seattle Seahawks: Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame

Anyone listed in the Top-14 (plus OT Martin) of the mock draft I just posted I would take for the Bengals if that person fell instead of taking Fuller, but otherwise, I would take fuller if everyone from 15 on down is available, including taking Fuller over Gilbert.

If I was Kyle Fuller, I would be looking for Apartments down by Paul Brown Stadium right now.

    2. St. Louis Rams (via WAS): Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

    3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo

    4. Cleveland Browns: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn

    6. Atlanta Falcons: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M

    7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh

    8. Minnesota Vikings: Blake Bortles, QB, Central Florida

    9. Buffalo Bills: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

    10. Detroit Lions: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State

    11. Tennessee Titans: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State

    12. New York Giants: C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama

    13. St. Louis Rams: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama

    14. Chicago Bears: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville

    15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech

    16. Dallas Cowboys: Anthony Barr, OLB/DE, UCLA

    17. Baltimore Ravens: Cyrus Kouandjio OT Alabama

    18. New York Jets: Odell Beckham, Jr., WR, LSU

    19. Miami Dolphins: Zack Martin, OT, Notre Dame

    20. Arizona Cardinals: David Carr QB, Fresno State

    21. Green Bay Packers: Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina

    22. Philadelphia Eagles: Deone Buchanon S, Washington St.

    23. Kansas City Chiefs: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

    24. Cincinnati Bengals: Ryan Shazier OLB, Ohio State

    25. San Diego Chargers: Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

    26. Cleveland Browns (via IND): Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

    27. New Orleans Saints: Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn

    28. Carolina Panthers: Jordan Matthews WR, Vanderbilt

    29. New England Patriots: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU

    30. San Francisco 49ers: Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame

    31. Denver Broncos: Joel Bitonio OL, Nevada

    32. Seattle Seahawks: Timmy Jernigan DT, Florida State

I think there could be some trades early (top 7 picks) and mid to late (17 to end of rd.) but I am just gonna go with this. I feel pretty good about the guys that will be going in the 1st and relative order (by tiers). But I would keep an eye on these teams to potentially move St. Louis (down from 2), Buffalo (up from 9), Tennessee (up from 11), Dallas (way up from 16), Baltimore (down from 17), Eagles (up from 22), Chiefs (down from 23), Bengals (down from 23), Saints (down from 27) Pats (any direction), 49ers (any direction), Jaguars (up from round 2).....the bold ones I just think are quite likely.

Notable guys who fall out of the 1st round IMO:

    QB Teddy Bridgewater
    WR Marqise Lee
    WR Kelvin Benjamin
    WR Cody Latimer
    OT Morgan Moses
    DE Kony Ealy
    DT/NT Louis Nix
    DT RaShede Hageman

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

I'm still adamant about Carr not going in the first round.

Because of that, I think the Cardinals would take Manziel if he was there at #20, promting Cleveland to trade up to #19 with Miami, who can then take Bitonio.

I think the 49er's trade with the Ravens so they can take Beckham in front of the Jets. That leaves the Ravens with taking Hageman or Jernigan at #30 and the Jets taking Ebron at #18. Arizona would take Zach Martin at #20.

Atlanta has a lot of holes and shouldn't be moving up, but if it means getting Greg Robinson, I could see them doing that, leaving Watkins for Cleveland and Matthews for St. Louis.

I think Philadelphia takes Marqise Lee and that Buchanon won't go in the 1st. I think the Packers will take Shazier, and the Bengals will get........Verrett (or Bitonio).

I admit the QB's give me pause but I just am not a big Manziel believer so thus why I see him dropping below Arizona, but I admit Manziel is the wildcard of the draft he could go as soon as #3 and as late as early round 2 IMO. I don't think the Cardinals are a likely destination due to fit.

Don't believe the 49ers trade up that far for a guy who is quite good a little unique but not special, maybe they trade up 5-6 spots to go after Cooks or stay put for Latimer if they even go after WR in the 1st.

Not sure why we are talking about Atlanta at all but since we are I think they stay put and take Matthews who is more Pro ready at LT.

I definitely believe Buchanon is a guy who ends up in the 1st he's too good and GB/Phil right there is the likeliest landing spot. Lee is a late 1st early to mid 2nd guy IMO.

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Beaver/Cougar players are usually underrated by the NFL. But, the Packers GM and Kelly are not part of that group. They scout out those schools as good as anyone including Seattle and SF. Buchanan could definitely go to either of those clubs. Philly and GB both need help at FS. Burnett will be given at least another year on that new contract at SS. Philly was more efficient than Denver on Offense last year. Kelly needs help at all three levels of Defense.

At the Blazers/Rockets game right now....here comes the anthem. Go Blazers!

Dave Caldwell (Jags GM) who is refreshingly straightforward has said they are open to moving down, and said 2 teams have approached him, but said at this point the odds are they will pick at 3.

There's enough reasons,....Mack, Watkins, etc., to want to move to #3 for somebody.

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Mario-Rijo, I believe that WR Odell Beckham, Jr. is going to have a huge effect on this draft. I believe he's the last of the top-tier of WR's in this draft, and that the dropoff to the next tier is enough that several teams are going to try to put a package together that allows them to move and get him. The main three teams are San Francisco (#30), Philadelphia (#22), and Kansas City (#23). I can't see Beckham getting past the Jets at #18. If the Jets had to choose between Beckham and Amaro (TE), or a CB like Fuller/Gilbert, I think they take Beckham.

Baltimore (#17) and Dallas (#16) both need an infusion of talent making them prime candidates to trade down with Philly/KC/SF. Both of those teams could use Beckham themselves, but Beckham isn't going to put them over the top. They have too many holes elsewhere on the team and need more starters than just a dynamic WR to pair up with what they already have.

So, I'm pretty sure that somebody trades up in order to get Beckham, as they don't want to "settle" for one of Cooks/Lee/Latimer.

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

    From Rotoworld w/ Rotoworld comments:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the 49ers and Jets are two teams "pondering trading up for a wide receiver" in the first round of Thursday's draft.

The Jets and 49ers are currently scheduled to pick 18th and 30th, respectively. With a boat load of picks -- including a pair of second-rounders and three third-rounders -- the 49ers have plenty of ammo. San Francisco has been mentioned as a dark horse to move into the top five, but Rapoport reports it's more likely that they jump into the "teens." They're said to love LSU WR Odell Beckham.

This is the week of deception in the NFL. There will be more lies thrown out there than truth. As a fan, this is where your own evaluations are worth more, how much credence you put into a source is worth more than the information, and common sense comes into play.

See Teddy Bridgewater to the Bengals.

Had to change it up significantly because Manziel is going higher than I am willing to give him credit for....changes in bold

Ironically, he said that 6 or 7 teams said that they'd sign him if they drafted his brother.
