    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

If the extra pick is a 2nd rounder, I would like that deal. For a 3rd rounder (assuming not at the bottom of the 3rd? - bleh. It might turn out ok, but for a 4th rounder, I don't know if I would be upset, but I would be at least a bit disappointed, I suppose.

Edit: I misread. You said 2nd or a 3rd AND 4th rounder. I'd still take it for a 2nd, but am not sure if a 3rd and 4th rounder would be that intriguing. I wouldn't hate it, but I don't think I would like it.

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Here's "Mayock"'s Mock Draft, and I'll give it a shot and post mine next to his. I'm including trades (he did, too, as he has Oakland trading with Carolina). The first posting is with Oakland trading up to #2, and because it changes everything if it doesn't happen, I'm following this with a mock that has Oakland not making that trade to #2.

    1. Houston...Mayock--Clowney, Kingspoint--Clowney
    2. St. Louis...Mayock--Robinson, Kingspoint--(I think the Rams trade with Oakland and the Raiders take Watkins with the #2 pick)
    3. Jacksonville...Mayock--Mack, Kingspoint--Mack
    4. Cleveland...Mayock--Matthews, Kingspoint--Manziel
    5. Oakland...Mayock--Watkins, Kingspoint--(I think the Rams take Robinson with this pick after trading with Oakland)
    6. Atlanta...Mayock--Lewan, Kingspoint--Matthews
    7. Tampa Bay...Mayock--Evans, Kingspoint--Lewan
    8. Minnesota...Mayock--Gilbert, Kingspoint--Bortles
    9. Buffalo...Mayock--Martin, Kingspoint--Evans
    10. Detroit...Mayock--Dennard, Kingspoint--Clinton-Dix
    11. Tennessee...Mayock--Bortles, Kingspoint--Donald
    12. NY Giants...Mayock--Ebron, Kingspoint--Martin
    13. St. Louis...Mayock--Beckham, Kingspoint--Dennard
    14. Chicago...Mayock--Pryor, Kingspoint--Pryor
    15. Pittsburgh...Mayock--Fuller, Kingspoint--Gilbert
    16. Dallas...Mayock--Manziel, Kingspoint--Fuller
    17. Baltimore...Mayock--Mosley, Kingspoint--(I think San Francisco trades with Baltimore from #30 and takes Beckham)
    18. NY Jets...Mayock--Cooks, Kingspoint--Ebron
    19. Miami...Mayock--Kouandjio, Kingspoint--Barr
    20. Arizona...Mayock--Barr, Kingspoint--Mosley
    21. Green Bay...Mayock--Shazier, Kingspoint--Shazier
    22. Philadelphia...Mayock--Clinton-Dix, Kingspoint--Ward
    23. Kansas City..Mayock--Lee, Kingspoint--Cooks
    24. Cincinnati..Mayock--Donald, Kingspoint--Roby
    25. San Diego..Mayock--Roby, Kingspoint--Verrett
    26. Cleveland..Mayock--Bridgewater, Kingspoint--Lee
    27. New Orleans..Mayock--Benjamin, Kingspoint--Ford
    28. Oakland..Mayock--Carr, Kingspoint--Carolina does not trade away this pick and takes Bitonio.
    29. New England..Mayock--Amaro. Kingspoint--(I think Jacksonville moves up to this spot to grab Bridgewater)
    30. San Francisco..Mayock--Tuitt, Kingspoint--(With Baltimore having received this pick, they take Moses)
    31. Denver..Mayock--Verrett, Kingspoint--Jean-Baptiste
    32. Seattle..Mayock--Jean-Baptiste, Kingspoint--Kouandjio

And, now with Oakland not trading with St. Louis for #2 in the draft...

    1. Houston...Clowney
    2. St. Louis...Robinson
    3. Jacksonville...Mack
    4. Cleveland...Watkins
    5. Oakland...Evans
    6. Atlanta...Matthews
    7. Tampa Bay...Lewan
    8. Minnesota...Bortles
    9. Buffalo...Clinton-Dix
    10. Detroit...Dennard
    11. Tennessee...Donald
    12. NY Giants...Martin
    13. St. Louis...Dennard
    14. Chicago...Pryor
    15. Pittsburgh...Gilbert
    16. Dallas...(Arizona trades with Dallas and takes Manziel)
    17. Baltimore...(San Francisco trades with Baltimore and takes Beckham)
    18. NY Jets...Ebron
    19. Miami...Barr
    20. Arizona...(Dallas takes Fuller)
    21. Green Bay...Mosley
    22. Philadelphia...Ward
    23. Kansas City...Cooks
    24. Cincinnati...Shazier
    25. San Diego...Roby
    26. Cleveland...Bridgewater
    27. New Orleans...Lee
    28. Carolina...Bitonio
    29. New England...(Jacksonville trades up and takes Savage)
    30. San Francisco...(Baltimore takes Moses)
    31. Denver...Verrett
    32. Seattle...Kouandjio

Mayock's a moron if thats his mock.
    a) Al's Gone, that has Al's fingerprints all over it.
    b) We really don't have the pieces to make it work. We don't have a ton of picks unless St Louis really wants some 7th rounders.
    c) As much as I (and many in Raider nation) love Watkins, he won't make much difference with this roster without more help.

If Watkins is available at #5 you have to take him. He won't be though.

Here's a little inside joke for you to watch for tonight. Espn always takes a commercial when the Jags are on the clock.... So watch for that.

While I agree completely, need has never stopped the Raiders from going after players they salivate over.

    Re: 2014 NFL Draft

I don't remember the year, but it was when the Bengals drafted Madieu Williams (why I remember that, i don't know), but ESPN did go to commerical for the first 3 or 4 picks the Bengals made, and did not even have "the bottom line" scrolling. It was several picks in a row where it happened and it was as frustrating as hell. I didn't have quite as much internet information (twitter, etc) at that point and it was awful.

I don't buy, for a second, that all these QBs are going to slip. There are too many teams who, right now, are looking at 2015 season where they have absolutely no shot to compete (due, in large part, to their lack of a competent QB) for these guys to all fall.

    You meant 2014 season, right?

Ordered Domino's for an early dinner. Wife went to a Pampered Chef party so I had to get something for her. Gonna have the leftovers here soon.
