Votto strikes out (Niese seems to have his number)
    Ludwick pops up
    Bruce strikes out
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I think the Liverpool Reds offense is more exciting than this... seriously, watch them go.....even when they do not score 4-5 goals....they are fun to watch and create.

No pitcher is too average to stop the Reds offense at this early juncture of the season.

I love following the Reds minor leagues and I'm already feeling desperate for the arrival of OBP minded top prospects like Winker and Ervin.

All I ever see Votto do this year is throw his bat at the ball. Has he actually taken a swing all year? I think the announcers even called it the "Votto Flail" the other night.

    Good 1-2-3 frame for Simon

What's the excuse for the Reds offense today?

Quick frame for Niese. Frazier and Cozart with first pitch flyouts, Pena grounds to short.

Ugh, the shift argument about where a hitter tends to hit the ball is infuriating. Semi competent hitters (and Matt Adams sure is one) change their tendencies when an entire half of the field is conceded to them. It takes the smallest amount of effort and competence to at least attempt to go the other way when the shift is on. As much as I love Jay Bruce, I wish he displayed more of that mettle.
