I'm not sure it would have been overturned on replay. It was close.

Looked really safe to me on the slow-mo.

    Re: Rocco and Billy

Is there a reason why Rocco sat on Sunday? Seems strange to give a break to the hottest hitter on the team. I mean, I sort of know the reason -- to give him a break and to give Pena some action -- but I still think it odd to take that bat out of the lineup.

Just wanted to bump this thread because I think we have positive returns on both of these players. Both have played very solid D at key positions up the middle. Rocco continues to look like a middle-of-the-order bat and has now actually started to hit there with the injuries to Bruce and Votto, and Hamilton continues to find more consistency out of the leadoff spot. I would say things are looking up for the Reds at two spots on the team that are traditionally very difficult to fill.

Also found this great piece from FanGraphs on Hamilton. Here is a choice excerpt:

Just a few weeks ago, Hamilton was a statistical disaster. Now we can say this: he has 120 big-league plate appearances, and an 86 wRC+. Between last year and this year, Jimmy Rollins has an 86 wRC+. Brandon Phillips and Jose Altuve are at 87. Elvis Andrus is at 77. We have a good sense that Hamilton is going to be below-average at the plate, but that’s okay, because of what else he can do. It looks less like he’s a catastrophe. The truth is that Hamilton’s probably in the top 5-10% of baserunners, and the bottom 10-20% of hitters. That makes him a gamble, and far from a sure thing for the Reds as an everyday player. But at the same time, Billy Hamilton isn’t your hyperbole. For all I know he’s just about Michael Bourn or Leonys Martin. Maybe that makes Hamilton a little less exciting, a little less exotic, but you can’t blame reality for sometimes falling short of what you made up.

I would just like to add that "Rocco and Billy" sounds like a FOX sitcom

That was, of course, the goal.

If Billy is Michael Bourn, he's a darn valuable player. And I think he has potential to steal even more bases than Bourn in his prime.

Currently using this as my desktop background.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

    Re: Rocco and Billy

Iīm impressed with billy so far. I had very low expectations before the season started and I though they should move him at the end of the lineup but I was wrong...

His range in CF is great and he sees the ball well but he should work on his arm... Most of his throws to the plate are "bad" (perhaps Iīm wrong through)...
