Bakersfield looks to be in for a wild one. Singles by Juan Silva and Ryan Wright start the contest. Jesse Winker doubles them both home. One out later, Kyle Waldrop brings home Winker with a double of his own. The scoring is completed on a single by John Tolisano.

Mike Dennhardt takes the mound with a four-run lead and promptly walks the first two batters he faces. With two away, a single to left plates one and Winker boots the ball allowing a second run to score. Dennhardt walks one more batter for good measure before retiring the side.

4-2 Bakersfield. They are in first place with a 9-3 record as they look to reach double-digits in wins tonight.

Yes, a wild one out in California. The Blaze tack on two more in the top of the third. Winker strokes his second double of the contest. Seth Mejias-Brean then triples him home. SMB must have tried for an inside-the-parker. He scored but an error was given to the catcher. 6-2 Bakersfield. Stockton gets one back in the home half of the frame. 6-3 now heading in to the fourth.

Solo home runs by Chris Berset and Ryan Wright make it 8-3 Bakersfield.

Mike Dennhardt has walked six batters and given up a home run through four; as he chugs towards victory lane.

As the board's biggest Josh Smith fan, I'm pleased to see him pitch well, yet a bit concerned that he ran out of gas before finishing his fifth inning. At the very least, though, he looks like he could be a successful bullpen guy in the future.

The Dragons only mustered six hits on the night. Beau Amaral had half of them. Two singles, a double and two runs batted in. He is now hitting .341. He stole his 8th base on the season. Sean Buckley doubled and scored. Joe Hudson singled, doubled and touched the pay station. Jamodrick McGruder was issued a pair of free passes. He had a rough night on the base paths though. He got caught stealing and thrown out at home.
    That's just dumb. Wow!
