Ryan LaMarre, trying to dig his way out from a slow start, struck the big blow, a grand slam in the fourth. He also single in three trips. Hernan Irribarren struck a two-run double for insurance runs in the seventh after the Indians had crept within two.
Evan Mitchell is on for Dayton in the ninth. He retires the side in order, striking out one. Dayton, with a lone single through eight, need two to tie, three to win.

Dayton wins in 11, 3-2. Gelalich reached on an error, stole second, moved to third on a single by Ervin and scored on a sac fly from Elizalde. Layne Somsen, still unscored on for the season, went the final 1.1.
Winker's first-inning HR has Bakersfield up 1-0 after five. The amazing Ben Lively has 9 K.
Ughhhhh, get it together Stephenson, I have been talking you up to everyone I know all offseason. sheesh.

While Stephenson has struggled his last two times out afetr dominating in his first start, Lively just keeps on chugging, as tonight he has put up this line so far.
