Thursday, April 17th, 2014...Minor League Updates:

Louisville (7-5) once again is hosting division-leading Indianapolis. The second-place Bats will be looking to creep a game closer. Chien-Ming Wang will be on the mound for Louisville. The Bats' righthander will be making his third start of the campaign. He has experienced some wildness in his first two starts, walking 8 batters over the span of 10 innings. His ERA is 5.40.

Pensacola (7-6) will once again be facing the Montgomery in game number four of a five-game set. The Wahoo have dropped 2 of the first 3. The Blue Fish are currently is a three-way tie for the division lead along with the Biscuits and the BayBears. Pensacola will lean on the right arm of Jon Moscot, who has gotten off to a fast start here in 2014. After two starts, Moscot's ERA is a miniscule 0.90. In ten innings, he has fanned 9 and walked only 2.

Bakersfield (11-3) will host the San Jose GDPs in the first of three. The Blaze sit atop their division. Pitching duties will be handled by Wandy Peralta. Peralta has struggled out of the gate this season, allowing ten hits and walking four in just 8.2 innings of work. He has fanned just four. It is Thirsty Thursday so get there early and often. Incidentally, Bakersfield leads the league in mascots as well with Torch, Heater and Pat D. Panda.

Dayton (9-3) will host the Kane County Mutineers. Both teams lead their respective divisions by a game and a half. Lefty Amir Garrett will try to shackle the Mutineers. Garrett has struck out 11 Midwest League batters in ten innings. So far he has proven to be a little too hittable, however, yielding 14 base hits during that span.

Wang gets seriously roughed up in the first, allowing a walk, four singles and a sac fly. Louisville trails 3-0 after a half an inning of play.

Bats come out swinging in the bottom half of the frame. Irribarren triples and Gotay does him one better, leaving the yard. That is his fifth home run on the year.

Rough start for the Dragons and Garrett, as he gave up 3 hits and a run in the first, and has already given up another in the 2nd.

Wow Garrett's night is done after he gave up 5 more hits and a walk in the 2nd, without recording an out.

    His line, so far: 1 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, BB, K

Joel Bender in to try and do damage control.

Wang, which is the Chinese onomatopoeia for a the barking of a dog, pitched accordingly tonight.

4.2IP 11H 6R 5 ER 2BB 1K. Pedro Villarreal, who has pitched well out of the pen for Louisville, gets the last out of the fifth.

Ruben Gotay has singled and homered in three trips and is now batting .372.

Louisville has committed four errors in the first five innings. Argenis Diaz has half of them. Hernan Irribarren and Kris Negron one each.

Bender, like Garrett before him, is being pounded. Kane County posts another four-spot in the third. Dragons trail 9-zip. With regards to the team's sub-2 ERA entering the game, this one is going to leave a mark.

Juan Silverio has gone and done it again, drawn his second walk of the season. Bryson Smith is 2-2, a pair of two-baggers. Jon Moscot has allowed a solo shot. Blue Fish trail 1-0 in the third.

Jeff Gelalich threw a runner out at home. This is the sixth outfield assist for Dayton it just their 13th game. Nine Dragons have gone to the plate in the first three innings and they have all been set down.

Kane County settles for one in the top of the fourth. 10-0. The Dragons are in danger of getting mercy-ruled.

It kinda stinks being here. 15 up and 15 down for the home team.

Pedro Villarreal pitched 2.1 scoreless innings. Lee Hyde is shutting Indianapolis down in his first inning on the mound. The relief corps is giving the Bats a chance.

Jon Moscot allows two runs to cross the plate in the fourth. A Yorman Rodriguez assist helps limit the damage. Singles by Silverio and Rodriguez precede a wild pitch. Steve Selsky singles them both home. Pensacola trails 3-2 after five full.

Daily just reached via walk for our first runner of the game after 17 outs
The stadium erupted with cheers and high fives. Hilarious.

Then Amaral got us a hit and immediately Daily gets picked off second.
