Sorry to read this Sundeck. I know that just typing things out on here has helped me over the past few months. We are all hear to listen if you just need to talk it out.

So sorry for you and your family's loss, Sundeck.
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

I hear you Doug. Here goes; I've been buried with this for three weeks and when I got back home it struck me that he was gone and I hadn't really had time to process it. Yet I had to get back to work, start being a dad again to a boy with special needs, and generally resume my life. It's been a tough week, for sure, and although I'm starting to emerge from my shell a little bit, I find there is a constant background noise ready to distract me into melancholy.

I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. I lost my only brother two years ago at age 48. I don't know your pain, but I know the pain.

It's not a club we want to invite anyone else to join. My brother had had a couple health scares over the last few years, so it's not like I hadn't considered that he might die, but there's just no way to prepare for losing a family member.
