Right. I never saw him as necessarily a top heel or anything, but he could be a guy in the IC/US picture who could consistently re-invent himself to stay fresh like Cody Rhodes and could slip into a big match as needed.
It's just so disappointing because it was crushingly obvious, like the Reds bullpen coming into a close game, what was going to happen once he won Money in the Bank. He started losing a lot and it culminated in being sacrificed at the alter of Cena, despite some on the internet blithely insisting "Sandow looked good in defeat." They made him look like a loser, and so fans perceived him as a loser, and WWE then said "Well, we can't use him for anything, the fans think he's a loser" to complete the the self-fulfilling prophecy.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Yep, they do everything they can to ensure nobody except their selected few get over, and then when someone asks why such-and-such isn't more involved in storylines or getting a push, they say "how can we use them, they're not over" after not even making an attempt to get them over. Sandow might even be a bigger case study than Ryder on that, because eventually the crowd threw their hands up and largely gave up on Zack whereas Sandow remained over, to his final days, this past Monday night in that battle royal, he got the biggest reaction (of disappointment of course) when he was unceremoniously dumped over the top rope seconds into the match, like the biggest jabroni on the roster.
On another note, already hearing rumblings of them wondering why The Vaudevillains aren't over - it is a goofy niche gimmick and they literally just dropped them on TV one random Monday with zero explanation as to who they were, or even if they were heels or faces. Heels apparently can't cheat much anymore in WWE so they can't even do that to show that they're heels, the crowd is confused, just sees these weird guys in 1920s get-up, and of course it's absolute silence when they come out. I mean, you don't have to devote a 20-minute segment to them but holy hell, how hard is it to do a couple minute promo piece on them? One thing you can say about WWE is I don't think anyone in the world makes better promo videos than them, and they like never utilize it to introduce new people. They finally did something a couple weeks ago with that Zayn-Owens video to hype their PPV match and it was AWESOME and got over even with the live crowd. Why not do this more? Your "developmental" league outdoes you in every facet of the game when it comes to stuff like this.

Sandow would have been great as a manager or mouth piece for a specific group of wrestlers. Would have loved him on commentary as well... Another wasted opportunity by creative.
If you have a losing record at Reds games, please stop going.
They've gotta give the Vaudevillains time. I've loved what they've done since coming up and have been really pleasantly surprised with how good their mic work has been.

I love the Y2J/Mitch stuff. They are actually paying attention to the Internet!?!?

I thought he did a great job in his promo segment with Jericho. It was a really little thing, but the way he turned Enzo's call-response line about him being 7 foot tall into his own line was great. The fact that he's able to hold on his own while Enzo is out is fantastic, and it's going to make Enzo's return that much more dynamic.
My other thought on RAW is how sick I am of the Usos. I know they're crazy-over with the kids, but they're such a generic team (to that point: even Mauro Ranallo really doesn't bother learning to tell them apart when he calls their matches). If the WWE is going to do "The Family" v. "The (We-Can't-Say-"Bullet"-For-Legal-Reasons) Club" that builds into something, I'd really like to see them get a gimmick update or at least add an edge to them of some sort.
I think there's a lot of money and good TV that could come from a slow-build that ends with a Survivor Series match between The Family (Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Samoa Joe, and maybe Dean Ambrose) v. The Club (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Finn Balor and maybe someone like Seth Rollins), but they can't have 40% of Roman's team being goofballs in face paint.
